Honduras is a country with dozens of National Parks, two Biosphere Reserves and many different protected spaces which are home to hundreds of species of birds, and mammals including manatees and jaguars. The most important of these natural spaces is the Pico Alto National Park. Honduras has humid tropical forests, mangrove swamps, coconut tres, islets, entire islands which are natural reserves, and the second largest coral reef in the world.
Many of the protected areas, such as beaches, cliffs, islands, islets, marine beds, forests and rivers, can be visited by the public.
Some of the most important parks in Honduras are the Pico Bonito National Park in the north, the Janet Kawas National Park, the Capiro y Calentura National Park, the Celaque National Park, the Cayos Reserve, the wild Reserve of the rivers Salado and Cuero, and the Guaimoreto Lagoon Reserve.
Getting out and enjoying nature is a great option while you are on holiday in Honduras. |
